June 2012 Pune. Please Id this wild herb 5-6 cms in height with white to pink flower 0.5 cms across. leaves 2.5 cms by 2 cms. The flower remained open for a short while till about 10.30 am.

Yes, This is Trianthema portulacastrum, a common weed of the sorghum crop, though a good fodder itself… nice spotting a weed… Trianthema portulacastrum L. (Aizoaceae)- Found wild in the field around my house. I agree with you about the adjustment in the camera. But the problem is I do not know how to do it. I have 2 flash settings in the camera 1) Red eye correction On/Off 2)Red eye lamp On/off Is that what you are referring to . Which one of these should be on and which one off. There is nothing like ev adjustment that I find in this camera. I have read the manual too. Some experimenting with the camera has produced better results. I could also see the flower opening and immediately an ant came foraging the flower. This happened within a minute. Attaching pictures of the same. enjoyed both the moments.

I am posting these pictures after going through … post of the same. A wild weed seen growing near flowing water in Muscat on 27/10/12. Kindly confirm id. as far as I know your plant is correctly named Yes, this is Trianthema portulacastrum… The problem in this picture is 2 closely related plants are there. 1. Portulaca oleracea (obovate leaf), another is 2. Trianthema portulacastrum (broader leaves) The first one you have mentioned, Portulaca oleracea is a very common herb.
It was the one with larger leaves that I was trying to validate.

The broad leaved herb is Trianthema portulacastrum, the blue flowered leaf is not clear, it may be Lindernia species. There are two different plants in the photo. The plant with more leaves seems to be Zaleya sp. Z decandra or Z pentandra depending upon the number of stamens. We have to wait for the ID of plant with purple flower.
