Request for ID – 16112011SR1:
o my layman’s eyes, it looked like azaleas in the first glance, but then I noticed that the leaves are different. This photo was taken in Vishakhapatnam in August-end 2011. It is a cultivated shrub.

NO NOT AZALEA… totally different plant…
may I suggest look at the plant base… its sort of swollen… light grey bark?
thats the character Bonsai makers love it… interesting twisting swollen base..
And when seed pods develop, that’s when you have the most fun… the seeds fly…
Adenium, wonderful plant

Yes Adenium obesum.
Family : Apocyanaceae

Addenium Magic, please explain :  Attachments (1). 3 posts by 3 authors.

Today (13.3.2014) I was surprised to see these two flowers blooming at same addenium plant.
Place : Kolkata.
I did not do any grafting. Can you explain the reason, please?

One plant of Adenium obesum seems to be grafted over second one. Not a big deal!

It may also be possible that the reddish flowers are stale or have been pollinated and the pink one is very fresh. This is the case with the flowers on my tree, the flowers which are 2-3 days old are redder and the newly bloomed ones are fresh pink….
