May I suggest that : color changes in flowers often I think may be due to changes in the pH of the soil or micronutrients dded or deficiency, as we often see in Hydrangeas… Asclepias curassavica images from Coimbatore:

Flower for id pl.
Location – Dattaji Salvi Garden, Thane (Maharashtra) Date – March. 2018 Asclepias curassavica हळदी कुंकू
But in हळदी कुंकू flowers, corolla is red! I can’t see it here …? Pl. see
Yes …, but somehow in my image (and few other images taken), I couldn’t see the red corolla. Hence I was wondering about the id.
I see some images in Google search with yellow alone – a cultivar of Asclepias curassavica … Silky Gold. Have not checked whether there are more such cultivars
Asclepias curassavica ‘Silky Gold‘
As per … it is Aslepias tuberosa..
Thanks …; did not know about A. tuberosa.
At Wikipedia, there is an interesting note – and may help resolve the ID … is uniquely identified by the larger number of flowers, and the hairy stems that are not milky when broken. Hopefully I will visit this garden tomorrow, if time favours. Thanks .. Yes, hopefully this will resove the id confusion …, I had been to garden today morning (8.4.18). Found the yellow coloured Asclepias. The stem was clearly not hairy, white sap oozed when I plucked a leaf. Thus it must be cultivar of A. curassavica and most probably Silky Gold. I will return to this post and attach the pictures in short while
Posting pictures of yellow coloured Asclepias curassavica – of the same site that … visited … the stem is not hairy, and the white sap is seen.
