Brachystelma malwanense (apocynaceae) घायलं Local name

My first Brachystelma ever. It is in vegetative stage in these days flowering blooms in month of may.
will visit the sight to see the flowers which are really close to ceropegia

Posting Brachystelma sp from Malwan region of Kokan , Maharashtra April 2015

Brachystelma malwanense S.R.Yadav
Habit – Erect herb,
Leaves sessile or subsessile, lanceolate or narrowly elliptic, flowers 2 on either side of each reduced leaf, nodes 3-5 but usually 4-flowered; flowering nodes 3-7. Flowers small, brown-black, bracteate.
Flowering occurs in March month and after flowering leaves appear in monsoon called hysteranthous species
Notes – species is extremely rare on plateaus of kokan in Malwan region of Maharashtra very difficult to spot in Flowering state
