This is a very common pot plant that can be found in any frontyard, backyard, garden or even on roof-garden. But i do not know the ID. It may be considered as a continuation of my earlier post “butterflies on coriander” because i photographed it within a ft. of those coriander plants, on the same day and same time. Moreover, it is hard to tell the ID of the butterfly (mating) without any UP photo. It is either a ‘dark grass blue’ (Zizeeria karsandra) or a ‘pale grass blue’ (Pseudozizeeria maha). The under views of the both species are very similar. Yet i will go for the former one! This is common herb in shady wasteplace in my village, Never seen it flowering, or I may have missed flowering season. Any Typhonium or Sauromatum? It is Syngonium. Thank you very much … Wiki says they are native to Central & South America, so it must have come here as an ornamental and later spread to wild Nice photographs. To me also it seems Syngonium sp. Yes Sir, Syngonium search gives many similar looking plant images. I just do not know which species we have in south of West Bengal. Maybe the Syngonium podophyllum Schott as in my other uploads. Yes could be Syngonium pododophyllum only which has juvenile simple leaves and cleft to palmately compound older leaves. But then S. neglectum and angustatum also seem to be candidates as per link Thank you Sir for the link, difference can be found in the podophyllum page, but I will have to wait for its flower. S. angustatum Schott can be sorted out with its less than 6 cm long (against 7-14 cm in other two) juvenile leaves. All I could find, relating to West Bengal, is presence of only one species – Syngonium podophyllum Schott. This one was recorded from a home garden in Panipat.. It is Syngonium macrophyllum. It has 7 leaflets, unlike S.podophyllum which has 5 leaflet. Check this link http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/266530/ for ID confirmation. Dave’s Garden is no doubt a good resource, I think, but should each data can be taken granted? Please check spadix of each species. “Cross-shaped” male flower clearly identifies this species as S. podophyllum Schott.
Please also check the following links (to compare with Syngonium macrophyllum Engler) –

Probably an Araceae member… Seems like some species of Syngonium to me. Family – Araceae I would suggest Syngonium pinnatum I am also going with Syngonium pinnatum due to its leaf character seen in the 4th photo. I could not find any match for Syngonium pinnatum on google search I think Syngonium podophyllum Schott, as per images and details herein. . I’d please place kota Rajasthan 150223SK2: 2 high res. images. Syngonium podophyllum Schott ! Yes, as per images at
