This species is quite distinct from related species B. biternata in shorter spreading habit usually less than 80 cm tall, bipinnatisect leaves, with much smaller segments, margin entire; heads with 1-5 yellow ray florets; cypselae 10-14 mm long with 2-4 mm long barbate 2-4 awns. Annual herb differentiated from other species by 2-3-pinnatisect leaves with smaller and narrower segments with entire margins, heads withour ray florets or with few yellow to pale yellow ray florets; involucre bracts linear without dilated apex, and fewer achenes.

It is one thing to read keys and descriptions in books, and another to see the plant yourself. Now I know I wont confuse between B. bipinnata and B. biternata. Yes It was very common in Chakrata area. I see this wild fern whose shape from top reminds me of a snowflake. Today, I noticed a plant with yellow flowers and thought it might help in identification.
