Please ID this plant captured at Rajgad near Pune in Dec 2014.

This is Blumea sp.

Blumea species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available)

I think Blumea is one of the most complicated genus. Unfortunately, I think we do not have one single expert only of Blumea (along with Conyza).

So, what I am going to suggest may entirely be wrong –
Since heads are not sessile we may reject probability of hieraciifolia, but there is photograph of peduncled capitulum. Yet I skip this for heads in the attached photographs in this thread looks smaller. I am telling all the time that sizes are important in every respect. Finger tips are useless here.
We have B. oxyodonta in our database, I also reject this as the species here doesn’t look like decumbent small one. Please try to provide as much description as you can in future.
Our database of B. eriantha does feature photograph of this species. The species has sessile leaves at least in upper part. Please check probability.
I repeat I can be 100% wrong. It’s not that easy.

Thank you … for spending so much time and effort on the analysis…
Yes I agree, the photographs do not show all angles of the plant….will try to be more organised in future, though it is a bit difficult when you are travelling with family who is least interested in plants 🙂
I went through all posts of B. oxyondonta and B. eriantha from our database. My personal view (a layman’s view) is that it looks closer to B. eriantha than B. oxyodonta but it looks closest to an unidentified Blumea post by Dinesh ji from Kulang-gad
Hopefully, we get some inputs from the experts…

I think it is close to Blumea oxyodonta as per images, details and references herein.

On further scrutiny, I think more closer to Blumea malcolmii rather than Blumea oxyodonta as per images, details and references in these links.

Wild Weed for ID : Lonavala : 200612 : AK-2:
Picture taken on the mountain
at Karla, Lonawala on 7/3/12.
A very small weed growing wild, having single bright yellow flower.
The entire plant seemed very hairy.
Id please.

Its Blumea species …

Do you have a picture showing the basal leaves and please tell us the height of the plant.

I checked for more pictures, one more is similar frame. This was a small weed growing on the rocks on the mountain top, due to lack of water. Whole plant less than a feet long. In the monsoon, it could look different.

Appears close to images at Blumea malcolmii Hook.f.

Plz id this herb: pa33 – 19nov2012:
Plz id this herb from Matheran region. It is a very short herb. I did not see any flowers and fruits but these leaves were growing on the ground quite commonly. The leaves have a strong smell.

I am not thoroughly sure but similar leaves and structure is observed in Elephantopus scaber

This looks like a species of Blumea possibly B. eriantha, a strongly aromatic herb.

Thank you …

May be Blumea malcolmii Hook.f.
