Pulicaria wightiana ? – indiantreepix | Google Groups
On 11/10/09 in Ananthagiri Hill forest in Rangareddy district of Andhra Pradesh.

This should be labelled as P. wightiana, though the specific character ‘peduncle long, hollow and thickened upwards’ (may be there but) can not be seen in the picture.

ID please … (family: Asteraceae)

Habit: herb, standing about 40 – 60 cm
Habitat: mixed deciduous forest
The flower about 20 – 25 mm across. Reminded me of Pentanema indicum – but does not look so.

It can be Pulicaria wightiana.

After seeing this plant I had impression that I have seen similar plant in Delhi, but was not able to recollect the name. Thanks … for suggesting Pulicaria wightiana which prompted me to hunt out my plant P. dysentrica which is clearly different in woolly stems and much narrower involucre bracts.
I think … may be right in identifying it as P. wightiana with narrower leaves, puberulus stems and prominent involucre bracts.

Pulicaria wightiana (Wall. ex DC.) C. B. Clarke ??

Yes. Earlier also identified at Flower for Id-ID26102015SH1

Extremely sorry for missing the earlier thread of id. I think I have seen this flower on grassland and mountain range of sahyadri very often. But sometimes Asteraceae species are confusing. Normally these flowers are seen in Maharashtra at the end of monsoon.

Konkan, MH :: Yellow aster for ID :: ARK2021-026: 3 images.
Seen this yellow aster  in a village near coastal Devgad, MH in the last week of December 2020.
Is this Pulicaria wightiana. eFI pics match.
Requested to please ID.

I found three species listed in FoPI.
Pulicaria angustifolia
Pulicaria foliolosa
Pulicaria wightiana
On checking in CoL and POWO, all of them may be listed in Maharashtra.
I got keys in Flora of Medak District, as per which we can rule out P.foliolosa. As per keys, I think it may be Pulicaria wightiana, although I am not able to clearly see the peduncle below the head.

Need help with small yellow flower id (daisy-like):

Pulicaria,

I think it is Pulicaria wightiana C.B.Clarke as per images and details herein.
Flora of Guntur District, Andhra mentions the flowering period to be from Sep. to Feb.
In the Rajasthan environment, it may be a little different.

Yes …, Might be,

Malhargad near Pune, MH :: Pentenema indica for validation :: ARK2021-053: 3 images- 2 high res.

I too was inclined towards Pulicaria wightiana, however, could not make up my mind.

A small wild plant with bright yellow flowers seen in Nasik.

I think the 1st two images look like those at Pulicaria wightiana C.B.Clarke, though a late flowering (period Sept.- Feb. as per  Flora of Guntur District, Andhra … – Google Book Search
Not sure about the other two.
