Impatiens … ??

Beautiful images. Pl. Also check comparative images in efi site.

This one is most probably I. tripetala, as flowers are in fascicles. Frontal view of flower could help.

Thank you Impatiens tripetala Roxb.

In my opinion, neither this specimen by … nor the specimen by … from Mizoram are Impatiens tripetala. I have attached the description from Flora of British India, and underlined the portion describing the lip and spur. The spur cannot be called short in any of the two specimens. I have also attached the picture of lectotype of Impatiens tripetala from Phytotaxa 288 (2): 193–196 (2016). Neither of the two specimens appear close to it.

Unfortunately at the moment I don’t have enough time and resources to dig deeper.
I am still working in the field and I also got several interesting, but time consuming requests dealing with balsams.
This way problem I. tripetala or no need to wait for more time and this could be somewhere in winter…
I will try to resolve simple cases in meantime.

Could we get some guidance from …

He gave some reply in … post today- by confirming … belief without any further id.

That means I. tripetala is correct ID ?

No. It is otherwise.

ID not yet established.

Compared with other images in Net and FoI it does not look like I. tripetala. Any opinion please ?

This is a very intriguing Impatiens species to me. North-East India is full of little explored Balsams. This could be a little known one, or a completely new one! I will be very much interested in its identity

Could it be Impatiens exilis ??

I. infundibularis

Thank you … for the ID finally, Impatiens infundibularis Hook.f.
At least a new addition to the  Flowers of India and efi.

Great identification! This will be the first picture of a live plant of this species on the internet – that’s no small achievement!

If possible prepare a specimen , I think it is a new addition for Nepal……send me the details I want to prepare a note for you….for publication

It is from India and from 2017 album.

Ok, thanks.
