This is regarding the kannada name ಬಲ್ಬಲೆ balpale. In my view ಬಲ್ಪಾಲೆ balpaale (as mentioned by  … Subrahmanya, Prasad K – Exploration and elucidation of traditional medicinal plants of erstwhile Tulunadu and surrounding area of Kerala and Karnataka – Shodhganga) is more appropriate than ‘ಬಲ್ಬಲೆ balpale’. Paale or Paala refers to Writhtia tinctoria in Kannada. ‘Paale or pala’ also written as ‘pala or pale’ refers to the white milky exude. Even ಬಿಳಿ ಹಲಸು bili halasu  may not be appropriate as this tree or fruit is in no way related to Halasu (Jackfruit tree). Nevertheless, the choice is yours to retain, add or delete the names suggested by me.

About ಬಿಳಿ ಹಲಸು bili halasu literally meaning white jack … this name is more in context of a trade of wood / timber.

Artocarpus hirsutus = hebbalasu ಹೆಬ್ಬಲಸು = hebba + halasu = wild jack tree

This is one of the most interesting tree i had ever seen, Flowers no doubt look beautiful, but the tree look even more beautiful when it is fruiting.
Its a large evergreen tree.

Please help ID this flower: 1 image.
This photo was sent to me by an Ayurvedic doctor for identification. Would appreciate any assistance in ID-ing it.

When and where was it clicked?

I have asked my friend who sent it to me. No response. I kind of sense that it was one of those “forwards”. I know flowers somewhat myself but this particular one has stumped me.

An umbellifer?

I think something else. Appears to be fallen flowers.

The flower character is matching with disciflorus families like Celastraceae, Anacardiaceae, etc.  leaf details , fruit details will be the supporting character for correct identification.
