Earlier mages at Carex cruciata look this image in GBIF.

Could be difference in maturity of the inflorescence, one in early stage with mostly male anthesis and the other with mature female with developed ovary.

Yes, I can agree with young material of Carex cruciata Wahlenb., sect. Indicae, native to India and also in other Asian countries, e.g. Japan. When young there are white flowers, later turning into brown.
