This is about 2ft. or a bit tall cyperus, found on roadside. I didn’t have any scale with me.

I think this cyperus, found yesterday, just above the waterline of a pond, is the same species as in my earlier upload in this thread. This time i have stats.
Culm height : 70 cm; triquetrous, each side 4mm wide, smooth angle, smooth surface
Leaves : about same length
Ray (?) : 15 cm avg,
Raylet (?) : 6 cm
Can it be Cyperus distans L. f. ?

The following pictures (links) are what i think of C. distans L.f. –

At least the first set of photographs in this thread is also C. distans L.f.

FBI. vi. 608. notes “… it is difficult to draw a line between this species (C. nutans) and fine examples of C. distans
For its patent spikelets i think this species is C. distans L.

With its laxly distichous red spikelets this is C. distans L.f.

This cyperus is growing on a railway-platform, as you can see in the 1st pic. The middle one (2 or 3 in a bundle) with immature spikes and the left one (2 or 3 in a bundle) with mature spikes.
Each plant is with a culm of about 1.5 ft.. compressed 3 angled, about 6 mm wide. Leaves are longer that culm and involucre about same size of culm.

In FBI –

I may well be wrong, but this seems to be same C. distans L. f.
