If you find that the leaves are acute, obtuse, rounded or subtruncate at base, then it is T. involucrata or else if leaves are cordate at base, then it will be T. praetervisa.

Date: October 15, 2010 Tragia involucrata L. Thank you very very much … for quickly validating the Tragia IDs of my sightings. If you find that the leaves are acute, obtuse, rounded or subtruncate at base, then it is T. involucrata or else if leaves are cordate at base, then it will be T. praetervisa. There are a few closely related species such as T. hispida, T. montana, T. involucrata, T. bicolor and T. praetervisa which have narrow specific differences from each another. Thank you very very much …, for this clarification. Probably nobody dares to touch a Tragia for the stinging hairs. I had to digest a number of bites when I worked out the genus! This is what we call JAL-BICHUTI in Bengali, a highly stinging twiner.

Please help with identification. Tragia involucrata . Regarding identification of the sp. collected from Ganjam Odisha on the month of Des 2022: 12 high res. images. I think it appears close to images at -Ditto- .
