Requesting to please identify this wild plant with long slender leaves. no fruits were seen. Might be Aeschynomene aspera – Fabaceae … more chances of being some species of Chamaecrista. Yes Chamaecrista sp is a closer identity. However if there are clearer flower photos, it would be good. Chamaecrista species in eFIoraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available) It looks like Chamaecrista pumila, if the stamens are 5, and there is a gland at the base of the rachis. It looks to me Chamaecrista mimosoides (Cassia mimosoides) Probably Chamecrista mimosoides efi pages on Chamaecrista pumila & Chamaecrista mimosoides Please check, (if you have specimen), a stalked peltate appendage on the rachis of leaf near to the lowest pair of leaflet. if it is there, then it is C. pumila. otherwise it can be C. mimosoides. For confirmation detailed study of specimen is must. otherwise very nice photos of all such parts are required.

It should be sessile for Chamaecrista mimosoides (L.) as per keys and comparative images at Chamaecrista Keeping in view the number of leaflets and nature of stem “Stems variable, usually puberulent with short curved hairs, sometimes more or less densely clothed with longer spreading hairs”, it looks more close to Chamaecrista mimosoides (L.) Greene. Probably the image on the group has not gone through.
