Dehradun-Mussoorie Tour 2013:: Bauhinia scandens from Botanical Garden FRI.. : Attachments (6). 6 posts by 5 authors.
This interesting Bauhinia was my first sighting, recorded from Botanical Garden of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun.. this was very profusely flowering as well as entangling a tree.. I was lucky to have a flowering twig nearby for an otherwise very high up open inflorescnece..
Wanted to share.. Bauhinia anguina -the monkey’s staircase or the snake climber

New Bauhinia for me and interesting…. specially the 4th picture.

Lalbagh Botanical Gardens Bangalore
Date: 19 FEB 2017 … Altitude: ~ 906 m (2972 ft) asl
Bauhinia scandens L. … (family: Fabaceae) … native

As per the current usage, the lianas (coupled with some other characters) previously under Bauhinia are now treated under the genus Phanera. Hence you have to call this now as Phanera scandens (L.) Raf.  Reference: Badyopadhyay in P. Singh & Bandyop., Fasc. Fl. India 26: 64. 2014.

Thank you very much … for this update.
Will revise my notes at flickr accordingly.

Phanera scandens (L.) Lour. ex Raf.: 4 images.

Location: Palpa Deurali, Palpa, Nepal
Date: 30 May 2023
Elevation: 838 m.
Habit : Wild
Syn : Bauhinia scandens L.

Very difficult to tell. Compare with Phanera khasiana too. Just a guess.

It has got no distribution in Nepal !

Then no chance of P. khasiana. Can be P. scandens but without mature stem which are serpentine in shape, and flowers or fruits it is very difficult to confirm the identity.
