Looks like Cassia tora ? It doesn’t look like a cassia leaves. Cassia occidentalis? Please check with Cassia hirsuta. We collected this specimen near Maredumilli MPCA, Andhra Pradesh. I agree with … id, it does look like Senna hirsuta. It looks like Senna hirsuta.

Cassia for ID : 260112 : Mumbai : AK-2: May be Senna hirsuta to me it look like Senna occidentalis I think S. occidentalis has neither hairy calyx nor hairy pods. Senna hirsuta has both. Yes i agree, but in the photo here, pod is not mature, have not seen C. hirsuta in MNP till date,, will find out if added to the garden.. Cassia for ID 10122011: It may be Senna hirsuta. Perhaps number of leaflets, presence and location of gland/s and size of pod should confirm conclusively. Other things especially stamens and ovary do fit Senna hirsuta. Thanks … and … I had arrived at this ID but plants on efloraofindia labelled under this name do not tally with this, however the link provided does fully agree. Leaflets were 6 pairs but ignored the gland. The pods were terete and densely silky. Six pairs of leaflets further goes in favour of Senna hirsuta

Plant looks very attractive due to yellow flowers and hairy ‘tentacles’ around inflorescence. The leaves bigger at the apex than the base.

Not sure whether Senna OR some other genus. Most possibly an escape. Found growing in an untended place among waste. Flower – about 15 – 20 mm across. You may click on the photos to reach photopage in flickr to download the larger original version (or please ask me to provide).
