Cassia for ID : Sri Lanka : 100912 : AK-2: It may be Cassia spectabilis. yeah looks very much like Cassia spectabilis.
efloraindia: Fabaceae-Caesalpinioideae (Caesalpiniaceae) week: Not Senna siamea for sure. The fruits are quite different and even the habit photo, foliage etc. of the plant looks quite different. Check for other species of Senna. My key uploaded on the website leads me to Senna spectabilis, the only species without glands (I can’t detect any) and cylindrical pods.

Senna spectabilis (DC.) H.S.Irwin & Barneby (= Cassia spectabilis DC), fam Caesalpiniaceae,
ornamental avenue tree from Tirumala hills of Andhrapradesh. Does it commonly flower during this time in AP? What is the date when this picture was taken? This tree has finished its flowering long time back in Bangalore (typically after the rain till around Nov) It is from my old collection taken during April 2010, Thirumala hill, forest area near Aakasganga, it is a cultivated tree only.
