Lomatogonium carinthiacum from Himachal [Chhitkul, 3500 m asl], growing in meadows amidst shrubs of Rhododendron campanulatum, R. anthopogon, Cassiope sp. and Juniper sp. Very beautiful species, never seen this.. thanks … ID Request?? — en-route Guntarao – GHNP – PKA87 : 4 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (3)
Seen this small herb en-route Guntarao at GHNP at an altitude of approx 3200m. Yes a species of Swertia. Need to be checked for tetramerous species. Appears close to images at Swertia tetragona (Edgew.) Clarke in Hook. f. though with some variations as per comparative images at Swertia. On further checking, it is more closer to images at Lomatogonium carinthiacum (Wulfen) A.Braun Location Kalatope, Chamba
Altitude 2100 mts Habit herb Habitat wild/periphery of the fields Plant height 20 inches Flowers and leaf dimension as per photos May not be a Swertia as glands are missing How does one confirm it sir…?? Could be Swertia angustifolia, not sure though Habit and shape of leaves suggest Lomatogonium spathulatum Lomatogonium carinthiacum (Wulfen) A.Braun ? I think you may be right as per GBIF.
