Habit : Epiphytic plant
Altitude : c.850 m.
Habitat : It grows wild on the tree
Genus : Aeschynanthus

overall it seems related to the goldfish plant/flowers but that’s Columnea
of course is part of Gesneriaceae as is Aeschynanthus part of Gesneriaceae
not knowing the sizes etc of flowers and leaves and other details  i cant go further.
both these are epiphytes so that’s not a differential feature.
Thanks for the upload, i got to see a nice flower

MSJuly,2015/04 for ID (Aeschynanthus sp.)

Thank you sir

I have struggled to remember what this was. leaves and color of flowers were very familiar. these leaves reminded me so much of the

goldfish plant I used to have (before the days of widespread internet and digital photos). I have since discovered that my goldfish plant is called
Nematanthus strigillosus
Moore 1973 and it belongs to Gesneriaceae  … where as this plant from NE INDIA. Aeschynanthus genus also belongs to Gesneriaceae family
==
BUT its very stange and interesting that Nematanthus genus grows exclusively in Brazil ie south american continent and Aeschynanthus genus in almost in India and south east of India i.e. Asian continent, a small specific region. I wonder how did the gene pool travel so far ??? Both genus plants are succulent and form trailing habits and good for hanging baskets.
Read about this intriguing family at this society page
nature is full of wonders. more i see more i know how much i dont know and how much remains to be looked into and how many things need genetic mapping

Location: Pokhara , Nepal
Altitude:  2600 ft.

Altitude not matching.

Sepal look different from your earlier images of Aeschynanthus hookeri

I still think it is A. hookeri

I think look closer to images at Aeschynanthus parviflorus (D.Don) Spreng.

Kindly identify this orchid with red flowers photographed in Sikkim in May 2015. I apologise that i have only a single view which may not be enough evidence.

Pl. check with images of Aeschynanthus perrottetii

Of course Aeschynanthus….

Looks right to me.

Not Aeschynanthus perrottetii A.DC. as sepals look different as well as no distribution (as found only in western Ghats).
Looks rather closer to Aeschynanthus parviflorus (D.Don) Spreng. although image is not clear.

Thanks, …, for the id.
But better images are required for final confirmation as I could not find bract like structures at the base of the pedicel in images at Aeschynanthus parviflorus (D.Don) Spreng.

Aeschynanthus species so far in eFloraofindia

Please check with Aeschynanthus acuminatus Wall. ex A.DC.

This is also common in Manipur. I thought it might be A. perrottetii, but not sure.

Thanks, …, for the Id.
I think matches with images of Aeschynanthus perrottetii rather than those of Aeschynanthus acuminatus

This looks like Aeschynanthus parviflorus although the present pic is not clear enough to be sure. In this species the style protrudes out more than the stamens. In another close species Aeschynanthus hookeri  the style is shorter than the stamens. In the uppermost bunch of flowers in the pic, it does appear that the style is long-projecting out.

Thanks, … I think matches with images of Aeschynanthus perrottetii rather than those of Aeschynanthus parviflorus

I agree. I did not know about A. perrottetii

Also not Aeschynanthus perrottetii A.DC. as sepals look different as well as no distribution (as found only in western Ghats).
It is some other species not available in efi so far.

Is it Aeschynanthus lineatus Craib as per your recent publication ?

No it’s not. A different species. Need more details.

May I request you for high resolution images.

2 high resolution images.

Aeschynanthus sikkimensis (C. B. Clarke) Stapf ??

What are the species listed in your area?
Yes, appears close to images at Aeschynanthus parviflorus

Aeschynanthus acuminatus, A.gracilis, A.maculatus, A.manii, A.masoniae, A.parasiticus, A.parviflorus, A.sikkimensis and A.superbus are recorded in Mizoram.

Any keys ?

Keys lead me to Aeschynanthus maculatus (and matches as per GBIF specimens- specimen 1 and specimen 2),  which is now a syn.of A.parviflorus as per POWO.

After all it is Aeschynanthus parviflorus (D.Don) Spreng.  ??

Yes, Aeschynanthus parviflorus (D.Don) Spreng. (syn: Aeschynanthus sikkimensis (C.B.Clarke) Stapf)

.

Unidentified Aeschynanthus species from Manipur: 5 images.

An Aeschynanthus species from Manipur, blooming in July. Flowers are orange, prominently hairy on the outside.
Although cultivated, quite likely a native species, or a species from SE Asia.
Any clue to its identity?

To me appears close to images at Aeschynanthus parviflorus (D.Don) Spreng.

Pl. check.

I think you are right … I hadn’t seen a close up of this species before
