This species was recorded as a new record to Orissa, and rare in Pune (as mentioned in eflora) but it is quite frequent on moist rocks in Kali Valley of Uttarakhand.
Beautiful rosettes of few leaves produce naked scapes on which white flowers are borne.
Photographed near Garba Village, Dharchula area, Pithoragarh District of Uttarakhand.
I remember this plant since my childhood when it was quite common around my home in Karan Prayag (Dstt Chamoli, Uttarakhand) where it flourished on wet rocks. Now it is no more common, rather has become rare in the area.

Yes Thanks for sharing this interesting plant. Being from Pune; surprised to know the place of occurrence as Pune though rare. Will have to check if any member has come across it in Pune

This plant was recorded at a single location at 1200 m elevation, 120 kms south of Pune on a cliff face. Only a few individuals were seen in an area of 1 sq mt. Flowering was in January.

Corallodiscus lanuginosus is a very variable taxon in term of morphology. This is my specimen which i had uploaded in Eflora of India earlier and the paper that we published is attached for ur reference.

The specimens from Pune and Orissa have more colourful flowers and less trichomes on leaves. … have already indicated significant differences already which need to be studied critically. It represents a case of discontinuous distribution in the Himalaya and Peninsular India.

Thank you … for this interesting post. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful plant.
And thank you… for additional information and pictures.
Has this plant been reported from the southern part of the Western Ghats?  Karnataka, Kerala or Tamil Nadu?

Saw this small plant on the compound wall of a building at Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand in Aug 2018.
Is this some Bergenia?
Kindly ID.

Henckelia innominata.

and shows a picture from nilgiri.

Thank you. seems there is much flux

Thank you … for the ID. The pics do not match any of the pics on efi.
…, The pics in the link provided by you also do not match. Is it a new addition?

well i have not been able to reconcile many of the Gesneriaceae shown here recently. seems there is much flux in the names, classification, photographs genetic variability and final expression in growth pattern color of leaves, flowers etc. very confusing.
… had several from Hongkong if you have time go thru his september caeses, you’ll find the confusion. Since … has ided your plant go with it
and if other Gasneriaceae experts want to throw light on this, the better.

It is Corallodiscus lanuginosus (Gesneriaceae).
Please see eFI page.

I am very happy to get the correct id, .. and threads and their picture match. …, you got it?
