Terrestrial herbs; rhizoids upto 2.5 cm long; stolons capillary, upto 2 cm long. Foliar organs upto 1 cm long, narrowly obovate, rosulate, apex rounded. Traps numerous 1-1.5 mm long, ovoid, stalked. Racemes 2.5-6 cm long, terete; scales similar to the bracts; bracts 1.5-3 mm long, narrowly elliptic, acute at both ends; bracteoles 1-2 mm long. Flowers up to 4 mm long; pedicels c. 1.5 mm long, often recurved in fruit. Calyx -lobes subequal, c. 1.5 mm long, ovate, hooded. Corolla purple or cream; upper lip 2-lobed, c. 2 mm long, obovate to oblong, notched or emarginate at apex; lower lip 2-3 mm long, suborbicular to broadly ovate; spur 3-4 mm long, slightly curved forwards. This is also Utricularia caerulea, a wide spread and much variable species .
