India: Evergreen forests at about 1200 m altitude. Rare, found on Quercus griffithii. Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram (at Champhai); China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Java, Sumatra and Borneo as per BSI Flora of India;
