Submitting few images of a Loranthaceae sp for ID assistance….Could it be Scurrula cordifolia…???
Habit:  Epiphytic, Parasitic shrub.
Habitat: Semi-evergreen forest..
Sighting: Nallur, Chikmagalur, Karnataka, about 900 msl.
Date: 15-10-2015 and 21-10-2015

Having seen this in Morni Hills, I agree with your id …!!

Thank you …, This is Scurrula cordifolia. The dense candelabrate hairs, relatively long petioles and the flower buds with abruptly acute apex give the identity.

A plant which was growing on another tree in the garden.
Id please

Perhaps, Loranthus

Could be Loranthus cordifolius as in FOI? Experts kindly confirm id.

It does not seem to be Loranthus cordifolius Wall. [This species is now called Scurrula cordifolia (Wall.) G.Don]. In this species the ovary is clavate, whereas the ovaries seen here are obconic. Further, in S. cordifolia, the young leaves are clothed with velvety white mealy tomentum. This character is nor evident in the images shown here.
One needs to see the stamens and anthers to confirm the species. It is most probably Scurrula elata (Edgew.) Danser. But this species is confined to sub-Himalayan tracts and not seen in S.India. See the key in Flora of India, vol. 23: 22 – 29 (2012).

Thanks a lot, …, What about the species available at the link: Loranthus cordifolius – Heart-Leaf Mistletoe – Flowers of India ?

Thanks for the correction in id and additional information. I am adding two more pictures with young leaves which could help in id.

Yes, this seems to be Scurrula cordifolia (Wall.) G.Don, matching in leaf-shape and indumentum of young leaves. However, the main character of anthers with or without sterile apices can be the deciding factor, which can be studied only by dissecting live plants.

Thanks for the id.
On searching, my pictures resembled Scurrula ferruginea too. Kindly have a look on Google search.

Scurrula ferruginea (Roxb. ex Jack) Danser is so far known only from Myanmar, S.China, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. The reports of its occurrence in Goa is based on wrong identification.
It is not possible for me to definitely state whether your plant is S. ferruginea or another species.

Thanks for the feedback. Will try taking better pictures during next visit.
