As per Flora of India Volume 3 (1993), it is distributed in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Profusely branched prostrate herbs, stem hairy. Leaves simple, alternate, 2-3 x 1.5-2.5 cm, ovate, base cordate, margin dentate, hairy, glabrous beneath; bracts 1-3, subulate; calyx lobes basally fused, 4 mm, oblong-lanceolate; petals appendaged, 4 mm, red; staminal tube with 5 stamens and 5 staminodes; ovary pubescent, 5-celled. Fruit 0.8 mm across, globose, septicidal; seeds 1 in each locule, muricate. Flowering and fruiting: Throughout the year

Could any one tell me the range of distribution of this plant? Thank you ma’am.
I am not aware myself about the distrbution about this plant. On this hill though, it was very common. You only have to look down to see it. As per Flora of India Volume 3 (1993), it is distributed in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, West Bengal, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Byttneria herbacea of Sterculiaceae. Leaf-paste applied on cuts & wounds for cure. So, called as ‘Vettu kaaya thazhai’ in Tamil. Tridax procumbens is also called as ‘Vettu kaaya poondu’, as it can be plastered on cut wounds for curing. Not only that but Clerodendrum infortunatum, Mimosa pudica, Vernonia cinerea and Chromolaena odorata also traditionally using for curing wounds. .
