Helicteres isora L.
On other note, at The Plants List (http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/kew-2843218) surprised to find one of the synonym is Ixora versicolor Hassk. at highest confidence level.

Murudsheng in Marathi.

Yes it is Helicteres isora, leaves appear similar to that of Grewia sp, but can be easily differentiate by flowers,  this one is from family Sterculiaceae and Grewia from Tiliaceae.
as i wriiten before we cannot 100% depend on The Plant List for Indian Plant Identification. its better if we do some hardwork by exploring literature than seeing on The Plant List.

Flowers of Helicteres isora from Guragon:
There is some problem in flowers one flower bluish and other is red. Is that a common thing in Helicteres isora.

Recorded From: Gurgaon
Flw: July 2011

Ater pollination the flower changes colour from red to purplish-blue. Please refer to the archives of this group for our previous discussion on this.

Please find a current science paper (Current Science<http://www.cabdirect.org/Current+Science%22> 2000
Vol. 78 No. 6 pp. 713-718) on pollination ecology of H.isora. It details about the change in color of the flowers.
I am sorry as I couldn’t attach the same because of the size of the file.
Even after making it small it was more than 5 MB that I couldn’t upload.

Some problem with the link that I had given in my previous mail.
Please visit the following link http://www.ias.ac.in/researchcommunications.pdf

Link … gave is a nice paper on Anthropolgy of agriculture, but is on page 713 pf this rather large pdf.

Chimmony’s gift of bounty – Helicteres isora plant:
The beautiful Helicteres isora plants delight with their omnipresence
in the Chimmony forest (Kerala). At some stretches, they almost form a
border along the forest trail.
Kuttan,  a Malaya tribal, who
was our chef and later guide! He knew the names of almost all of the
trees when we went for a trek inside the forest, he kept saying “This
is Yedambiri.”
And look carefully – don’t they look like the
miniature of a bird, perhaps a red bird with a long neck – say perhaps a
red ibis, a flamingo or a scarlet Ibis.
