Malayalam name for Memecylon terminale Dalzell:

Memecylon terminale Dalzell, is the smallest of all Memecylon species in India, and is reported to be found only in four states of India – Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu.
Now, we need to give a name to this species. Popular species is Memecylon umbellatum Burm.f. … it has following names: കായാവ്, അഞ്നമരം, കനലി, ആനക്കൊമ്പി
I propose … ചെറിയ കായാവ് cheriya kaayaavu … I hope this name looks and sounds good.
Please let me know, if this name needs any correction.

The common Malayalam name for ‘Memecylon’ is കായാമ്പൂ kaayamboo.
Cheriya kaayavu ചെറിയ കായാവ് is an appropriate name.

Tamil name for Memecylon terminale Dalzell:
Please help in giving a name to a rare Memecylon species – Memecylon terminale Dalzell; it is the smallest among Indian species.
Tamil name for Memecylon umbellatum Burm.f. is காயா
Will …  சிறிய காயா chiriya kaya … be a good enough name ?
Please let me know your thoughts.

That name is good for describing the plant, but I think சிறு காயா (chiru kaya) or சின்ன காயா (chinna kaya) would be better as a name.

Thank you very much, …, for help with coining a name for this species !!
We will go with சிறு காயா chiru kaya.
