Nice pictures, … This is called ‘mamsarohini’ in Sanskrit and is said to be used for the treatment of a rare disease – muscular dystrophy.

In fact it is not ‘mamsarohini’ but “Mamsa Rohini” as it is having miraculous effect on seventh (i.e. deepest) layer of skin known as Rohini. In many parts of India, that’s why it is known as Rohina.

Its a news to me that there are also several other plants known as “Mamsa Rohini”. Is there any common indicators for these species, other than the use? It will be interesting to know their names, if possible.

very nice documentation. Did you get all the pictures in Plate1 together or at different times? Soymidas in Nagpur seem to flower a month later than in Maharashtra.

The photograph of the fruits were taken last year where as all the remaining photographs in plate -1 are taken during my last visit to Nagpur.
