Spotted this aquatic plant with leaves in geometric patterns in a cultivated garden in Thane, Maharashtra in Dec 2016. Googling on the net indicated it to be Ludwigia sedioides.
Requested to please validate the same.
it is Ludwigia sedioides syn Jussiaea sedoides
this sps has larger yellow flower among Ludwigias commonly found in Maharashtra

But I found the shapes of the leaves to be different. Also the petiole of T. bispinosa seem to be redder.

I know nothing about Ludwigia whilst Maharashtra is way beyond my field of expertise, however, I did take some photos of water chestnuts (Trapa) in Nageen Lake, Srinagar during my last visit to Kashmir.
