. Epilobium sp. for id from UP -2011: This one I think is an Epilobium sp. Was shot from Shukartaal, in U.P. in June 2011. The flower size of this herb was about 1 cm across, the fruit nearly 2-3 cm in length. Hope to find the exact id. How about Ludwigia perennis??? Yes, the fruits of Ludwigia are seen in pictures (1), (7) & (8). I guess Ludwigia plants occur near water streams etc. Was the habitat similar here? Thanks for liking. This plant was shot from the lawn of a community park, but it was in along the bank of River Ganga. Hope to find exact id soon.. It is not epilobium may be ludwigia sp. Does not seem to match with any species of Ludwigia as per comparative images and details herein. I think close to Oenothera affinis as per
Thank you very much … for floating this post again..
This never came to my mind being a very old post and, incidently, the original image collection of this tour somehow totally escaped my attention..
I hope the correct identification has been ultimately established by your efforts…
. I think Oenothera affinis Cambess. as per images and details herein. Thanks a lot respected …, for your response. To me, the comparative size of flowers, leaves and fruit matches well with the images at the efi site link. I think no other species as listed in various floras at Oenothera, comes close. . Check with Onagraceae I think it is close to the images at Oenothera affinis Cambess. I guess you are right
