Plant for ID Jun 2011 SMP1:
After observing so many Passifloras from Sir ji Just thought of sharing this plant(Climber) observed at SFO Botanical garden in Jun 2011.
I think it is from Passifloraceae. Big climber. Flowers about 10cm in size. Mostly drooping down.

I think it is Passiflora tripartita var. mollissima (Banana Passion flower)

Yes … think you are right.

Identification:
Just joined this group because I intend to start learning to identify plants/trees in India – been restricted to animals and birds till now.
I saw this flowering plant/vine in Nilgiris Botanical Garden. November 2012. About late afternoon/early evening. Can anyone please help me identify this? Like I said, I am new to plant/tree identification. The closest I can guess is the Amaryllidaceae family (Pancratium, Zephyranthes – less likely) or the Rutaceae (Atalantia) family from looking through the Flowers of India website.

The plant is a Passiflora sp., most probably P. mollissima of Passifloraceae.

Yes, I agree with … Passiflora mollissima (H.B.K.) L. H. Bailey Syn: Tacsonia mollissima H.B.K.
