EUPHORBIACEAE FORTNIGHT:: Small tree for id from Gori Valley NS-36: Attachments (5). 10 posts by 5 authors. This small tree was shot from a roadside cliff in the Gori valley area, only the fruits were recorded… this made me doubt the id even at the family level.. please help to id.. This does not seem to belong to Euphorbiaceae. The ovary or young fruits do not seem show any indication of tricarpellary nature. Furether the flowers seem to possess prominent petals inside the calyx Please check for Eurya acuminata (Theaceae). Thanks … for this id suggestion, which seems correct to me… Yes it is possible that the tree belongs to Theaceae. If you can examine the live flowers, please examine this possibility.
