Gori Valley Tour: Succulent Herb for id from Shilling-1:
This one was shot from near Shilling.. a very small, succulent herb, quadrifoliate at nodes, all leaves equal in size…. Pepromia sp. perhaps… help required for id..

This delicate herb was shot from Shilling area in Gori Valley, I hope this can be Peperomia tetraphylla..

To me it is P.tetraphylla. Found on tree trunks or less often over rocks.


Yes, I think so. It springs up in plants soil in the tubs in the balcony when we use soil from the garden without sterilizing.   Right now I have about 6 of them sprouting in my tulsi tub.  In the tub though they are much lighter colored leaves than what you have.  I used to pinch them off until i discovered some papers indicating it may have some medicinal value so I am letting them grow to full maturity in the tub and hope they don’t take up all the nutrition meant for the Tulsi.

Yes …, this can grow in any shady & moist place.. but I think this is quite harmless plant even with regard to utilizing minerals from soil..
I think this will add more or less same amount of organic matter as much as this consumes, because of its short life span..

This is a herbaceous plant of temperate zone (1500m ). The plant is collected from the temperate forest (shady area) but forest is open,  of district Chamoli, Uttarakhand in April 2014.
