I request all of you to please consider this plant as Persicaria longiseta (Brujin) Kitagawa. Apologies for my mistake. Both the plants are morphologically very similar. They only differ with a few micro morphological characters like length of the bristles of ochrea, style no. and nut shape. Today I came across a fruiting plant of the same the nuts of which were trigonus. The number of style is also 3 here. Uploading two more photographs for your perusal.

Persicaria ….???

Most probably Persicaria hydropiper (L.) Delabre
Many allied species of the same are known. Therefore, we’ll need more photographs showing the floral characters to confirm the ID.

Pl. see all the high resolution images at SK 2841 11 November 2020

Yes, I saw that. Can’t see the open flowers there. Therefore, suggested the tentative ID.

Pl. also consider Persicaria longiseta (Bruijn) Kitag.
To me appears close.

Photo at Sr.No. 6 Looks as Polygonum hydropiper Jal marich.

The plant uploaded is Persicaria hydropiper variety elagans

To me appears more close to Persicaria glabra

Not P.glabra.. I’ll get back to you soon.

to me, it looks like Polygonum hydropiper, The leaf juice is pungent and strong-smelling. Crushed leaves are put into the deep pond inhabiting fish which forces the fish to come out from their hiding as the plant juice is irritating to the fish eyes Forms patches in moist, boggy places.

Thanks, … But looks different from Persicaria hydropiper as per images and details herein.

Though the plant P.glabra grow\s Also grows under a similar environmental niche,, the nodes have glabrous scales with rough hairy sheath enclosing the nodes.

Persicaria longiseta (Bruijn) Kitag. ??
May I request you for posting high res. images to check the details.
