Rubus…! Which one?

Rubus species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available on net)

Please check with Rubus moluccanus

I have recently seen this in Meghalaya, will post soon..

It is Neillia rubiflora. See the specimens and you may compare with its related species N. thyrsiflora.

I guess it is matching to Neillia rubiflora D. Don.

Elevation is not matching to Neillia thrysiflora D. Don.

Checklist is very old and sketchy and most of the genera needs revision. I have experienced that where ever there has been revision, lot of old species has been wiped out.

Thank you …  It is really tough task for lay person like me to decide the correct ID of plants. Someone says, Flora of China is not reliable, someone says the Catalog of Life is not reliable which I have also witnessed in some cases ans someone says the concept of the Accepted name is far from truth.
However, we should be happy that the process is going on.

Yes nothing I’d absolutely correct. Everything is relative.

Yes, nothing would be absolutely correct. We have to go by different sources at different point of time and our collection of resources.

Thank you …  It is Neillia thrysiflora D. Don.

Thanks. Finally you agreed.

Neillia rubiflora D.Don or Neillia thrysiflora D. Don ??

Inflorescence is still young.
On closer examination, it appears to become a panicle rather than a raceme. In view of keys in Flora of China, I will like to go for Neillia thyrsiflora
Pl. keep a watch, if possible.

Looks like fruiting stage of Neillia thrysiflora D. Don !

Yes, species seem to be OK.
But these are flowering buds as per FoC Illustration.

Thank you … Yes looks like flowering buds!

But the flowering period appears to be different from our observations at Neillia thyrsiflora and as per Flora of China.
What is the difference between the two species found in Nepal ?

According to  Neillia, there  is no description of keys for N. thrysiflora but elevation matches. And we had discussions in the past regarding possibilities of some variations on elevations and phenology due to global warming. Also, enclosing some keys from the book Flora of Kathmandu Valley for N. thrysiflora !
