C. & E. Himalaya to SE. Tibet as per WCSP;

Stems 10-40cm, often woody below, glabrous or scurfy, more often branched than in other species. Leaves equal, ovate elliptic, 2-14 x 1.5-6cm, acute base cuneate and often decurrent, glabrous or thinly pilose above, scurfy on veins beneath; stipules filiform from triangular base, ciliate 4-7mm. Cymes solitary terminal or terminal with lateral cymes overtopping central one, compact in flower, becoming strongly divaricate in fruit, 1-6cm long 2-10cm wide, often flattened in shape, pubescent; peduncle 2.5-12cm. Bracts and bracteoles linear-oblong acuminate, pubescent, 1 veined 10-12mm, persistant. Calyx c 2mm, teeth 0.75mm. Corolla 10-15mm, widened at mouth, white flushed with pink, drying yellow, pubescent outside, glabrous, papillose or sparsely pubescent inside; lobes ovate, 2-2.5mm. Capsule pubescent, 6-10mm wide.

Which are the species reported from the area?  


The following spp. are found in Mizoram :- Ophiorrhiza fasciculata, O.mungos, O.ochroleuca, O.oppositiflora, O.pauciflora, O.repens, O.rugosa var. argentea. O.succirubra, O.treutleri.

I am still waiting for Keys for Nepal or India plants. 


Ophiorrhiza is really a difficult so to identify since not much image and descriptions !

I guess sure. These are from FoC, FoB and Nepal Govt. published books.


If we follow the keys in it,

your id seems to be correct. 


I also followed keys given in the Flora of Bhutan, it leads to the same species.
If you follow keys given in the Flora of Bhutan, you may also conclude your remaining posts.

This will help in the id of Himalayan species.
