Commonly known as Chinese violet (Asystasia gangetica subsp. gangetica) usually has pink, mauve or purplish flowers with paler throats. However, some plants have entirely white or cream flowers with pale yellow throats, and these are sometimes known as Asystasia gangetica ‘Alba’.

¿ Asystasia gangetica ?
Please validate whether Asystasia gangetica; this is the sole photo, and may not really help in giving much information about the plant. The plant was growing wild in the scrub vegetation. The upper photo is cropped version of the lower one, to help focus on the leaves and slender stem. The habit looks almost like a climber, but I do not recollect much about it.

we see this in road sides and in the Shibpur Botanical garden in the rainy season Thank you, … I found these growing in urban scrub … untended area of the resort I was staying.
Also found them along road at many places in Pondicherry.
And recently even at Wayanad, in open scrub forests along roads.
Perhaps escape from gardens. why should it escape from garden. its a weed, i thought This plant is native to certain northern parts of India I assume, and in rest of India, it is planted as ornamental in gardens. Thus I consider that it may have escaped.
I do not think native plants would behave like weeds. I do not know whether my assumption is wrong, Hope someone clarifies.
