These are the two varieties of Ruellia patula one is white, another lilac flowered. Earlier it was known as Dipteracanthus patula.

Still doubtful whether it is Ruellia prostrata or Ruellia tuberosa.

The id by … is correct, I think.
Most of the species of Dipteracanthus are synonyms of Ruellia now.

Thanks …, but theplantlist says it is an unresolved name…as far as I know only one sp of Ruellia, i.e. R. tuberosa is naturalized in India. All other wild species come under Dipteracanthus. But, I am not sure of the current name for this taxon, you may be right in saying Ruellia.

Here I think the leaves are smaller than that of Dipteracanthus prostratus. It is not very clear whether the plant is prostrate or erect from the picture.

Ruellia species so far in efi.

Could be Ruellia malacosperma. However it is difficult to confirme as the leaves in your photographs is not very clear

It seems to be Dipteracanthus patulus (Jacq.) Nees (= Ruellia patula Jacq.) with white flower, erect habit, obtuse leaves, pubescent capsule are the supporting features.

It may be either Dipteracanthus (≈ Ruellia) patulus or D. suffruticosus which I think has white flowers, too.

THE plant is wild, the photos were taken on 27-6-2013 at 7 am Nandgaon Nasik.
