Id pl. a aquatic plant photographed at Go Green nursery, Karnala

It is Hydrocharis morsus-ranae.

I think this could be the native species Hydrocharis dubia. Leaves of Hydrocharis dubia can be ovate also, like the one seen in … picture. If I am not wrong, Hydrocharis morsus-ranae has only kidney- shaped leaves.
Not sure though…

I had almost assumed this to be a Hydrocharis, but somehow the leaves did not agrees.
It is actually another plant from the same family: Swamp Lily (Ottelia ovalifolia)

Requesting to please validate the ID (Echinodorus palaefolius) of this aquatic plant captured at Jijamata Udyan, Mumbai in August 2014.

Yes it is Echinodorus palaefolius

wiki essay says introduced in to India from Mexico
a little searching makes me think it came for fresh water aquarium trade
seems it escaped … thrown down the drain …
now the question is
will it be one more of the cross to bear for Indian water ways like the water hyacinth
is there a regulatory agency that allows/ disallows plats imports and widespread introduction??/
is not there a restriction on imports?

Requesting ID of this plant with white flowers – Mumbai :28062013 : ARK-01 : Attachments (9). 5 posts by 4 authors.
Requesting to please ID this plant with white flowers captured in a cultivated garden in Mumbai in June 2013. The plant was a water plant.

Alisma species, more possibly A. plantago-aquatica.

To me the white flowers look like Echinodarus palaefolius, Mexican Sword Plant.
The aquatic plant with long leaves is something else.

Does not look like Alisma plantago-aquatica

Ottelia alismoides (L.) Pers.

Looks different as per images and details at Ottelia alismoides

It is correctly placed, but the species look different from the two in our database at Echinodorus

The leaves in the pics do not resemble those of Ottelia alismoides.
I am positive that the leaves and flowers belong to the same plant though.

I would like to point out that there is variation in size and shape of the leaves of the plant (Echinodorus palifolius)
I have observed in private garden in Bengaluru. Some leaves are broad and some are long. Please see the photo attached.

Yes, …, images like yours belong to Echinodorus palifolius
