Thanks …  for another very good upload.

It would be very much helpful if you have any photograph of fruit and also uppermost leaves in focus to highlight its difference from I. glandulifera.

I found two plants of this Impatiens bearing large pink flowers. Looking at the pods and reading … comments, I guess this is I. sulcata. Please advise.
The bottom two pictures showing scale are from a fallen flower. I did not collect a sample as there were only two plants, one bearing only one flower.

Impatiens sulcataplease notice narrow, linear capsules. Also upper lateral petals create kind of hood in upper part of flower mouth.

By the way, very nice detailed pictures :-).

Altitude 11000 ft. dated 10 Oct.2012
Unfortunately no other details available with me.

Thanks and welcome, …, after a long time.

Looks like I. sulcata for me.
Notice dark peduncles and pedicels. Developing capsules look nodding.
This is however late season flowering and some features could be different than in main season.

Saw this along the Ghangaria-VOF trail, Uttarakhand in Aug 2018.
Requested to please provide ID, is this Impatiens sulcata?

it looks like I.sulcata but I.glandulifera is very close. What is the size
of the plant ?

Thanks … for the feedback.
I do not recollect clearly but I think it could be around couple of feet tall.

On comparing, I find these more closer to images /species/a—l/b/balsaminaceae/impatiens/impatiens-sulcata

Yes it’s Impatiens sulcata having larger flower with linear capsules unlike I.glandulifera where flowers are comparatively smaller with clavate capsules.
