When we pass this area in the morning, this flower could not be seen, but while retuning in the mid day on the same path , so many of them brighten the area.
A new flower to me.

The name comes from the colour which resembles colour of Crossandra and which is known as ‘Aboli’. The sc. name could have been abolimoides.


To add to this, Shrikant ji has not mentioned this.
But the now extremely popular name ‘Abolima‘ for this plant has been coined by Shrikant ji in his book Flowers of Sahyadri.
Infact there are several such beautiful names coined by him that are now popular.
