Vitex altissima is the name comming to mind too… This one is surely Vitex altissima.
The plant looks like a Vitex sp. Vitex altissima undoubtedly !!
This is called in Tamil as ‘Mayiladi’ and in Malayalam as ‘Naviladi’ (hope i am right). The meaning for both is ‘Foot of Peacock’ in allusion to the shape of 3-foliolate leaf together with the winged petiole.
Vitex altissima in malayalam “Mayilellu“. I am not sure about the name Naviladi because there is a difference in names in different places of
Kerala. Thanks …, for the correction as well as Malayalam name. ‘Naviladi’ is a Kannada name as per the link: http://envis.frlht.org.in/botanical_search.Vitex+altissima+L.F
It looks like Quassia amara to me. I will go with …, for Vitex altissima rather than those for Quassia amara by …, as per the images herein.
