Seems to be Carallia brachiata

Rhizophoraceae

Young twigs quadrangular. It may be Syzygium grande (Wight) Walp. (=Syzygium tamilnadensis Rathakr. & Chithra)

To me looks different from images at Carallia brachiata

I think looks different from images and details at Syzygium grande

I agree with …, this seems like Syzygium grande (syn: S. tamilnadensis). It is common in shola forests in the region. The quadrangular stem also seems visible.

The individual here /species/m—z/m/myrtaceae/syzygium/syzygium-grande does not seem consistent with the species description. Note the fruit size.
