Kickxia incana (Wall.) Pennell … also placed in Plantaginaceae at Tung fort on 13 OCT 12

The lighting on the leaves is beautiful, …

The 1 cm long pedicels described in the key to differentiate it from the other Kickxia is clearly seen here apart from the leaf characters.

Came across this herb near the rock walls of “Aurangabad Caves” (25-12-2009). Leaves were resembling arrow head.
Family: Scrophulariaceae
To me it looks like some sp. of Kickxia? Kindly provide ID..

My guess is Kickxia ramosissima.

The plant in the attached photo is Kickxia ramosissima from the family Scrophulariaceae. commonly known as branced cancerwort

Yes it is K. ramosissima. The spur on corolla is not showing but it may be there

Taking it as Nanorrhinum incanum (Wall.) Betsche in view of details at Are Nanorrhinum incanum & Nanorrhinum ramosissimum same or all our observation are of Nanorrhinum ramosissimum ?

This was identified by … as Kickxia ramosissima (Wall.) Janchen.. Will you please check this once again for ID.

Identity looks correct!
Nanorrhinum ramosissimum is closely allied with Nanorrhinum woodii. Following key separates both the sp. and in this case size of corolla tube matters. Hence, please check the measurements of your plant.
The second species is not found in India and is native to Yamen.

Corolla-tube 1.5-3 mm wide at mouth; corolla including spur 3.5-11 mm long ………….. N. ramosissimum
Corolla-tube 3.5-9 mm wide at mouth; corolla including spur 10-19 mm long ……………. N. woodii

Nanorrhinum woodii does not have any distribution in India as per Catalogue of Life and POWO.
N. ramosissimum is by and large glabrous, which your plant is not.

“Flowers axillary; pedicels filiform, much longer than most of the leaves”
From this aspect, … plant has much smaller flower-stalks, which are not threadlike, and so may not be Nanorrhinum ramosissimum.

Yes, Nanorrhinum incanum (Wall.) Betsche as per keys and details herein

Since they are new to me, I was not very sure. Hence posted them separately.
Both were seen in the same location.

I will take better photographs and add them.
