Kohautia aspera (B.Heyne ex Roth) Bremek., Verh. Kon. Ned. Akad. Wetensch., Afd. Natuurk., Sect. 2 48(2): 113 1952. (Syn: Hedyotis aspera B.Heyne ex Roth; Hedyotis elongata Wall. ex G.Don; Hedyotis strumosa A.Rich.; Kohautia strumosa Hochst. ex A.Rich.; Oldenlandia aspera (B.Heyne ex Roth) DC.; Oldenlandia leclercii A.Chev.; Oldenlandia strumosa (A.Rich.) Hiern);

Erect herbs, stem minutely tubercled. Leaves clustered, to 4 x 0.3 cm, linear-lanceolate, 1-nerved, apex acute, margins revolute, sessile. Racemes terminal and axillary, unilateral, panicled, to 2 cm long; flowers 5-7, white; pedicel 0.5 cm; calyx tube 1 mm, lobes 1 mm; corolla tube 3 mm, lobes 1 mm; stamens included; ovary 1 mm, globose, style 2.5 mm, stigma bifid. Capsule 3 x 3 mm.
