Pachmarhi … about 3600 feet ft asl
Date / Time: 18 SEP 13 at 13:29 PM … Altitude: about 3670 ft asl
¿ Flemingia macrophylla ? … (family: Fabaceae)
Habit: sub-shrub, standing about 1m
Habitat: mixed deciduous forest The flower about 10 – 12 mm across. I have a strong feeling this plant must be Flemingia macrophylla; please validate.
Nice shots … Yes it looks like Flemingia macrophylla To me the identification seems okay.. very beautiful pictures Pls confirm if leaves were 15- 25 cm long. Thank you very much … for the ID: Flemingia macrophylla
… the trifoliate leaf is about 12 – 15 cm … please let me know your thoughts. Many thanks … for the appreciation.
On going through Flowers of India, I found one plant quite similar to mine – Winged-Stalk Flemingia – Flemingia semialata
And then going through three floras – there seems to different treatments for Flemingia semialata
Flora of China … Flemingia macrophylla (Willdenow) Prain … there is no mention of Flemingia semialata
Flora of Pakistan … Flemingia semialata Roxb. ex Aiton
Annotated Checklist of the Flowering Plants of Nepal … Flemingia semialata Roxb. … syn. of Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.) Merr. GRIn gives Flemingia semialata Roxb. as a valid name, while The Plant List gives it as a syn. of Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.) Merr.
Embryology and Apomixis in Grasses By T. Pullaiah, G. N. V. Febulaus (2000) treat them as separate.

In view we may take them as different species.
Also see another thread from …: Flora of Chakrata- Flemingia semialata from Tiger fall route – Google … … has sent me the key to check what agrees with my plant …………… …, I want to know if you can see (and also show) these key features in your plant that lead to ID as F. semialata. ….
The key goes as
Leaves 3 foliolate
Erect shrubs
Flowers in axillary racemes
Calyx with a distinct tube
Racemes branched, longer than petiole, petioles winged… F. semialata ………………………………………………..
My plant, I find the petiole is winged, inflorescence is branched, clearly longer than the petiole – thus, F. semialata.
I believe … post also has F. semialata. It shows winged petiole, branched raceme longer than petiole.
Please validate the ID. I hope this is Flemingia semialata, shot from Trekking route to tiger fall on September 18, 2011. Nearly a shrub, it was bearing inflated pods. May be reviewed in view of another thread. Further replies from the some other thread:

Sharing some pictures for ID shot at Gurje Bhanjyang, Nepal on 27 August 2016 at 6000 ft.
Flemingia semialata (Fabaceae) to me. Thank you for the ID … Sir! Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.) Merr. (accepted name) Flemingia semialata Roxb. ?? Yes May I have your opinion on this ? Flemingia semialata W.T.Aiton has got no distribution in Nepal so far. Considering this as the syn. of Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.)Merr.,
I had suggested Nepali names. Since these are two different sp., please remove Nepali names for this sp from the FoI page.
Flemingia semialata as per POWO is found in Nepal too. Following is a specimen from Nepal: http://apps.kew.org/herbcat/detailsQuery.do?barcode=K001121984
That is to be explored. The specimen does not give the exact location of Nepal. Anyway, I have suggested the Nepali names considering Flemingia semialata as
syn for Flemingia macrophylla. Actually, these Nepali names are for Flemingia macrophylla.
This is Flemingia semialata Roxb. ex W.T.Aiton as already identified by … sir and … Any idea this sp. having distribution in Nepal? I could not find. ANNOV51 Fabaceae shrub for identification : 6 posts by 5 authors. Attachments (8).

Pl. post high res. image of the flowers to check if the calyx is glandular or not. at present I do not have high resolution images. I will post them once I take such images. I will keep it as Flemingia semialata, for the time being without seeing the glandular nature of the calyx.
