I think this is Mallotus phillipensis.. Or may be other Mallotus sp.

To me looks different from images at Mallotus philippensis
What are the species of Mallotus reported from your area ?

Mallotus ferrugineus, M.leucocarpus, M.philippensis & M.roxburghianus are reported in Mizoram.

I think Mallotus nepalensis.

Of these, Mallotus leucocarpus is an imperfectly known species. Do you have images of that? The present images are nearest to M. nepalensis.

To me appears close to images and details at Mallotus tetracoccus
Both WCSP & Catalogue of Life give Mallotus ferrugineus as its synonym.

Thank you so much. However, I do not see any paniculate inflorescence as well as dense ferrugineous tomentum of Mallotus tetracoccus. Hence I do not agree. I had already suggested Mallotus nepalensis instead.

Thanks, …, for the id.
To me also appears close to high resolution specimens from GBIF as below:

One thumbnail image from Bhutan Biodiversity portal is visible on google search as first image (although site is not opening) and seems close.

SK 3977 12 June 2024: 3 very high res. images.

Location: Godawari, Lalitpur

Altitude: 1698m.

Habitat : Wild

Maybe some Croton species.

Pl. check:

I guess the only matching is Croton nepalensis T.Kuros. according to the elevation.

Endemic to Nepal !

Researchgate

or Mallotus nepalensis Müll.Arg. ??

Yes, it looks like a Mallotus.

Then it should be Mallotus nepalensis Müll.Arg.. !
