Nidula shingbaensis sp. nov., a new bird’s nest fungus from India- Kanad Das & Rui Lin Zhao- MYCOTAXON Volume 125, pp. 53–58 July–September 2013
Abstract —A new species of bird’s nest fungi, Nidula shingbaensis, is proposed from the state of Sikkim. It is characterised by a slightly flared moderate to large peridium, yellowish interior peridium-wall, numerous brown-coloured peridioles with irregularly wrinkled surfaces, large broadly ellipsoid to elongate basidiospores, and a six-layered (in crosssection) peridium. A detailed description is supported by macro- and micromorphological illustrations, and the relation with similar and related taxa is discussed.
Lactarius in Kumaon Himalaya 3: A new species of subgenus Lactifluus- KANAD DAS, JAI RAM SHARMA1 & LETICIA MONTOYA- MYCOTAXON Volume 90(2), pp. 285–290- October-December 2004-
Abstract—An undescribed Lactarius species in subgenus Lactifluus has been found in Kumaon, Himalaya. The combination of features with regard to basidiome and latex color, basidiospore form, and thick walled hymenial cystidioid elements distinguish this new species, L. capitatus, from its close relative, Lactarius luteolus of U.S.A. The basidiomes of the species described here were found growing under Quercus leucotrichophora in subtropical deciduous forests.

Abstract– Three new species of Lactarius (L. sanjappae, L. mukteswaricus and L. verbekenae) are described based on collections made in India. Illustrations of their macro- and microscopic features and data on their ecological distribution are presented.
Fungal Biodiversity Profiles 1-10- ARTICLE in CRYPTOGAMIE MYCOLOGIE · JUNE 2015-

(Mucorales) is described. Finally, in Basidiomycota descriptions are provided for Boidinia parva sp. nov. and Russula katarinae sp. nov. (Russsulales), Gloiocephala parvinelumbonifolia sp. nov. (Agaricales), Hypochnicium austrosinensis sp. nov. (Polyporales), Phallus ultraduplicatus sp. nov. (Phallales) and Suillus lariciphilus sp. nov. (Boletales).
Two new records of Cortinarius from Sikkim (India)- Kanad Das and Dyutiparna Chakraborty- JNBR 4(1) 1 – 6 (2015)-
ABSTRACT Two interesting species of wild mushrooms belonging to the family Cortinariaceae, namely, Cortinarius variicolor (subg. Phlegmacium) and C. salor (subg. Myxacium), are reported for the first time from India with their macro- and micromorphological descriptions along with the supporting illustrations. Both are compared with the respective allied taxa.
A new species of Bondarzewia from India- Kanad DAS, Arvind PARIHAR, Manoj Emanuel HEMBROM- Turk J Bot (2015) 39: 128-133-
Abstract: Bondarzewia zonata, collected from North Sikkim, is proposed here as new to science. It is characterized by basidiomata with strong zonate pilei, thin context turning persistent dark red with guaiacol, comparatively small spores with narrow ornamented ridges, and an absence of cystidioles. A detailed description coupled with macro- and micromorphological illustrations of this species is provided. Its relation to the allied species is discussed and a provisional key to the species of Bondarzewia is given.
Suillus adhikarii, a new species from the subalpine Himalaya of India and Nepal associated with Larix- KANAD DAS, DYUTIPARNA CHAKRABORTY & HENRY VAN TUYL COTTER- Phytotaxa 219 (3): 289–295 (2015)-
AbstractSuillus adhikarii is described and illustrated as a new species based on morphology and ecology from the subalpine regions of Nepal and India. It is presumably an ectomycorrhizal fungus in association with Larix griffithiana and L. himalaica. This species is compared with the other closely related taxa of Suillus which have been reported in association with Larix from the Himalaya. A key to the Suillus species associated with Larix known from the Himalaya is provided.
Two new species of hydnoid-fungi from India- Kanad Das, Joost A. Stalpers, and J. Benjamin Stielow- IMA Fungus · volume 4 · no 2: 359–369 92013)-
Abstract: Two taxa, Hericium yunthangense (Russulales, Agaricomycotina) and Mycoleptodonoides sharmae (Polyporales, Agaricomycotina) are described as new to science from the Shingba Rhododendron sanctuary located in the northern district of Sikkim, India. Macro- and micromorphological characters are described and illustrated for both species, which are compared with allied taxa. ITS rDNA sequences supported H. yumthangense as a rather isolated species within Hericium, the species complexes of which were not resolved due to low interspecific sequence divergence. In the case of M. sharmae, 28S rDNA (D1/D2) data rendered this poorly known genus among well-known taxa of the core-polyporoid clade.
Lactarius in Kumaon Himalaya 2: New and interesting species of subgenus Plinthogali- KANAD DAS & J.R. SHARMA- MYCOTAXON Volume 89 (2) (2004)-
Abstract-Lactarius montoyae proposed as new to science and L. lignyotus var. canadensis reported for the first time from India are described and illustrated here.
NEW SPECIES OF LACTARIUS FROM KUMAON HIMALAYA, INDIA- MYCOTAXON Volume LXXXVIII (2003)- Abstract– Three taxa of the genus Lactarius (Russulaceae), viz., Lactarius dwaliensis, L. maitlyensis and L. dafianus from Kumaon Himalaya (Indian subcontinent), are proposed as new species. Macro and micromorphological characters of these species are described and illustrated, and ecological data are provided
Two new species of Russula (Russulales) from India- Das K, Dowie NJ, Li GJ and Miller SL- Mycosphere 5(5), 612–622 (2014)-
Abstract– Two species: Russula shingbaensis (R. subg. Heterophyllidia), characterized morphologically by greyish-green to slightly lilac pileus having tuberculately striate-sulcate margin, a stipe with a combination of white and vine colours, multichambered stipe context, indistinctive taste, spores ornamented with isolated warts, pilear elements with chains of globose to elongated inflated cells interspersed with comparatively narrow pileocystidia and R. thindii (R. subg. Russula), characterized by red viscid pileus, broadly adnate to adnexed lamellae, reddish to vinaceous stipe, acrid taste, pale yellow spore print and pileocystidia without any incrustations were collected from Shingba Rhododendron wildlife sanctuary of North Sikkim (India) and are proposed here as new to science based on their morphological features and ITS-based phylogenetic tree. Macro- and micromorphological descriptions coupled with the illustrations are given for both the taxa. Their relationship with allied taxa are also discussed in the present paper.
