Yes. It does not look like Gymnema sylvestre. The photographs are not clear. The foliage seems to  have been infected. If any other better photographs are available you may please send for proper ID.

Chewing of these leaves causes numbness on the tongue.

I guess only Gymnema sylvestre R. Br. is listed in Tripura and

it could be the ID.
