SK 3686 05 February 2023 – Araliaceae- 2:  5 images.

Location: Jalthal, Jhapa, East Nepal
Date: 03 January 2023
Elevation: 110 m. Habitat: Wild
Brassaiopsis hainla (Buch.-Ham.) Seem.?? But there is no record below 800m.
(Separating two different plants at SK 3686 05 February 2023 – Araliaceae)

On further checking, I find that these appear similar to other 7 images at SK 3686 05 February 2023 – Araliaceae
Thus the id is correct as Brassaiopsis hainla (Buch.-Ham.) Seem.

Due to the thick leathery leaf, I would go for Trevesia rather than Brassaiopsis to be honest.
Also, B. hainla is usually not that deeply cut as far as I know.

The only species reported in Checklist of Nepal is Trevesia palmata (Roxb. ex Lindl.) Vis., from which it looks quite different.
Maybe Trevesia palmata (Roxb. ex Lindl.) Vis. as per

SK 3686 05 February 2023 – Araliaceae: (Mixed thread): 7 very high res. images.

Elevation: 110 m.
Habitat: Wild
Brassaiopsis hainla (Buch.-Ham.) Seem.?? But there is no record below 800m.

1st 5 images appear to be of some different species.
For others id appears to be OK as per
https://efloraofindia.com/2013/02/01/brassaiopsis-hainla/

Images 1-5 from one plant and the remaining from another at a distance of 40/50ft.
So, it is one sp., but I am wondering that there is no record below 800m.

Plant one and plant two are different as the leaves look different.

Any idea about the sp. ID for Images 1-5 and 6-last ?

1st 5 images appear to be of some different species.
For others id appears to be OK as per

There are three more sp. recorded in Nepal, viz. B. aculeata 1300-2000m, B. glomerulata 300-1500m. and B. mitis 1600-2100m.

I think I have checked those also. You can also verify.

Only one sp. Trevesia palmata (Roxb. ex Lindl.) Vis. has got distribution in Nepal
with the matching elevation, and I guess this is the correct ID ! Please validate.
