Cultivated, garden plant seen on 8th of July.

Flowers were smaller in size compared to other Iris Species.

This Could be Yellow Walking Iris as in Flowersofindia?

A cultivated garden plant seen this week (27.4.18) in Bangalore.

Not sure of the correct name.

This would be a new addition for Eflora.

No, it was not in an aquatic habitat.

I found this on searching……..

Resembles and often misidentified as Neomarica longifolia or Trimezia martinicensis. Differentiated by shape of infloresence stalks — Trimezia has rounded flower stalks and leaf axis, while those in Neomarica are flattened. Trimezia steyermarkii has larger yellow flowers with brown spots, but Trimezia martinicensis has smaller pure yellow flowers. All 3 species mentioned here are different species, although often confused and used interchangeably with one another. Most of the commonly-cultivated plants known horticulturally as Neomarica longifolia are actually Trimezia steyermarkii.

Will go with Trimezia steyermarkii R.C.Foster … based on the fact that – Trimezia has rounded flower stalks and leaf axis, while those in Neomarica are flattened.

Please ID the cultivated herb, grown under semi shade n flower beds. Photographed in Mysore in one of the gardens.

Seems to be Iris sp., Probably Iris pseusacorus.

Probably Trimezia steyermarkii.

growing in plants not at edge of water body and marking on the petals are of Trimezia steyermarkiiand. leaves are narrower in the yellow iris broader in the walking iris: Trimezia steyermarkii
